Child Immunisation Clinics are held on Wednesday or Thursday mornings or Friday afternoons, for all children under 5 years old. The Practice is informed when your child’s immunisations are due and you will be contacted by our immunisation co-ordinator and offered an appointment.
If you would like more information regarding immunisations for your child, please speak either to your Health Visitor or Doctor. Seaford has a very high uptake for childhood immunisations and the Doctors would like this very satisfactory state of affairs to continue.
As from 1st January 2020 the baby/child immunisation schedule is different, depending on when your baby was born.
The schedule for babies born before 1st January 2020 is as follows:
2 months old
Three injections:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, Hib and Hepatitis B
- pneumococcal
- Meningoccal group B (MenB) –
+ Rotavirus (which is oral)
3 months old
Two injections:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, Hib and Hepatitis B
- Rotavirus (which is oral)
4 months old
Three injections:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cought), polio, Hib and Hepatitis B
- pneumococcal
- MenB
Around 12 months old
Four injections:
- Hib and Meningitis C
- pneumococcal
- MMR first dose
- MenB
2 – 6 years old (including children in school years 1 & 2):
- influenza (nasal spray)
3 years 4 months or soon after:
Two injections:
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio
- MMR second dose
Girls 12 to 13 years
HPV injection (school programme)
Around 14years (school year 9)
Two injections (school programme):
- Diphtheria, tetanus, polio
- Meningitis ACWY
For babies born on 1st January 2020 or after, the schedule is as follows:
8 weeks old
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, Hib and Hepatitis B
- Meningoccal group B (MenB)
- Rotavirus gastroenteritis
12 weeks old
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, Hib and Hepatitis B
- Pneumococcal (13 serotypes)
- Rotavirus
16 weeks old
- Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cought), polio, Hib and Hepatitis B
- MenB
1 Year old
- Hib and Meningitis C
- pneumococcal
- MMR first dose
- MenB
Eligible child age groups
- influenza (each year from September)
3 years 4 months or soon after:

- MMR second dose
Boys and Girls 12 to 13 years
- HPV injection (usually a school programme) types 16 and 18 (and genital warts caused by types 6 and 11). 2 doses 6 – 24 months apart
14 years old (school year 9)
- Diphtheria, tetanus, polio, Meningitis ACWY (usually given at school)
